Washington (TFT) – Are you ready to travel to a galaxy far, far away? Pack up the hyperdrive because you won’t have to wait that much longer.
Disney has released stunning new footage and details on the planned Star Wars park expansions set to open in 2019.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will officially open in Summer 2019 at Disneyland Resort in California and in Fall 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Guests to both parks will be transported to the planet of “Batuu”, a remote outpost known to attract rogue traders, smugglers and soon lots of excited Star Wars fans and families.
Guests can look forward to at least two brand-new Star Wars themed attractions. In one ride, visitors will get the chance to take control of the beloved Millennium Falcon (laser beams and all) as they attempt to complete a crucial mission. A second planned attraction takes place inside of a Star Destroyer and will put its riders front and center to a fierce battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Along with new rides, guests to Batuu can expect new merchandise, costumed characters and even that blue milk featured in Star Wars IV: A New Hope.
If you can’t wait for Galaxy’s Edge to open this summer, you can check out some Star Wars events and attractions Disney is already featuring here.
